Growing!!! 30 weeks today!!

My specialist appt went great today!!! Barrett weighed 3lbs 6oz and Brennen weighed 3lbs 5oz. Brennen is measuring three days behind Barrett but the doctor said that was normal and ok. He adjusted my blood pressure meds and he wants to see me in two weeks. Then he'll start seeing me every week. Can't believe we are on the home stretch!!

2nd Glucose test

Whooohooo! I got the call on my second glucose test!! I passed it with a 118 (needed to be under 140)!! Which means I get to finish this pregnancy without having to do a three hour glucose test AND no Gestational Diabetes diet!! Yay!!! Tomorrow I get to have another sonogram and see my babies! Hoping they weigh at least 3 pounds a piece!!

First trip to Labor and Delivery

On Friday I had my second glucose test. My doctor wanted me to do a second one since we are pregnant with twins. While I was there my blood pressure was registering high. We had been prepared that as the pregnancy progressed this would be an issue that might pop up. I was feeling fine just hungry and tired from getting up early, getting Ben to school and then fighting morning traffic to get to the appointment. My doctor was worried that this was start of pre-clampsia even though my reflexes were great and I didn't gain a ton between appointments. So he sent me home with a 24hr urine collection jug and told me to check into Labor and Delivery at 11am on Saturday. I was a little worried because he said that if I was starting pre-clampsia he might need to admit me for the rest of my pregnancy. Eeeeeekkkk! I was like, "Dude, my baby shower is coming up and I don't want to miss that!!!" In all seriousness though, if that is what was safest that is what we would do. So yesterday we checked into L&D and turned in my collection. I won't lie, I was afraid I was not going home after this. They instantly took me to a room, had me change into a lovely blue gown and drew some blood. The first nurse stuck me twice and said I have super tiny veins. The second nurse came in and she was super pregnant. She said she had five weeks to go. Her belly was bigger than mine, lol. They hooked me up to a blood pressure monitor and then three separate monitors. One to measure contractions, one for Baby A and one for Baby B. I'm always telling Riley how active the babies are but the monitor really showed him. Their heartbeats were great and every time they kicked or moved you heard a loud thud. I also wasn't haven't any contractions! Which I didn't think I was but it was reassuring to hear that I wasn't. My blood pressure was really good and only really went up every time they kicked me. Their kicks are strong and sometimes hurt. My labs came back all perfect, no ketones and no proteins. I was there about two hours and then my doctor said, "Send her home she is great!" Whewwwww!!! I do think my blood pressure is an issue though because I'm monitoring it at home. It's been super high (gives me a certain headache) but I see the specialist on Tuesday and we can talk about it then. I'm on the lowest dose of medication and I remember him saying that the one I'm taking isn't his favorite and he has some to move me too that might work better. So wiggle room is nice!

After the hospital we called my in laws since they had the boys and had taken Brit to dance for us.  They told us to go enjoy a meal and do what ever errands we needed to do. So we stopped and had a nice lunch at Johnny Carrinos. I was STARVING! Then afterwards we went and looked at Ford Expeditions. Riley is looking to get one sometime in July. Then we headed home. It was nice to get a little "date day " in!! :)

Here's to hoping that I don't have another L&D trip until these babies are ready!!!

Where are we at in this adventure...

I haven't done one of these before and thought it might be fun to look back at.....

How far along? 29 wks 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: 15 pounds (whooohoooo!!)

Maternity clothes? Still able to wear some non-maternity shirts but definitely in shorts and pants!

Sleep: Sleep? Not much sleep happening here. I think I get maybe three to four hours a night. I go to sleep really well but I only sleep in 30-45 increments and then I'm up.

Best moment this week: Having some penciled in rest days to catch up my DVR and just rest/enjoy my bed. I'm on the go a lot taking kids to different schools (across town from each other), Ben's speech/OT/PT therapy schedule and seeing three Dr's myself. Penciled in rest days are a must!!

Movement: Movements have moved from little taps to full on movements. Feels like flips and legs running across my skin. I can usually distinguish who is moving but not always.

Food cravings: I haven't had alot of food cravings this whole pregnancy. My only have to have daily is a huge cup of Sonic ice. I also lately love tomato soup with an alternative bagel smeared with cream cheese, bacon and spinach leaves. Riley think's it's the yuckiest combo. Not me!! YUM!! I also could eat tuna fish sandwiches every single day but limit it to once every two weeks because of mercury.

Gender: Still both boys

Labor Signs: No way!!! I have had some moments of tightening but water and laying down fix that. I told someone I feel like a ticking time bomb in a way because you never know with twins when you water might break esp Twin A. Praying that we make it all the way to the end. It would break my heart to have the babies this early and them be in the NICU. I was very young but I have lived having a sibling in a serious NICU situation/living at Ronald McDonald House and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It's hard on families and siblings.

Belly Button in or out? It's still an innie but a shallow one!

What I miss: I miss sleeping all night in our bed, as most evenings I end up on the couch. I'm like clock work. I sleep the first hour in our bed, the rest of the time on the couch and back in our bed around 4am.

What I am looking forward to: I'm looking forward to my big baby shower!

Milestones: I count each day a milestone but next Tuesday will be a big one! 30 weeks!!

Tomorrow is my second glucose test! Hoping and praying I pass it and don't have to do a three hour!!!
PS I have no idea why it's showing white on the final blog post, I can't get it to disappear.

28 weeks 6 days

It has been crazy busy around here. Getting Brit to extra ballet recital practices, working on "before the babies come" list, replacing some appliances and just everyday life equal busy times. It's been exciting times too!!! I found out all the kids will be able to go to the same school this year which is 1) AMAZING and 2) A BLESSING!!  The second exciting thing is my high school friends (we have occasional coffee mornings) threw me a mini shower! IT was so unexpected and so lovely!!! The theme was Ba.BEE's! LOL!

Here is a picture I took yesterday morning. My belly enters the room before I do now, lol!! I was 28 weeks 5 days.

On Friday I will have my second glucose test.....please let me pass it!!!
Then next Tuesday I will see the specialist again. I can't wait to see the babies and make sure they are both growing like they should! My feet have been swelling a little but I think it's because I've been on them way to much.

27 weeks 2 days

Just wanted to check in! Today started out a little busy. Ben started running fever last night so I knew he wouldn't be going to school. I felt bad having to drag him along to my thyroid appt but he was a trooper and Angry Birds was a great distraction! My appointment went very well and my labs couldn't be more perfect....music to my ears! That means (since I don't have a thyroid) that I'm getting what I need from supplementation as are the babies. He wants me to have labs again in May but I don't have to drive the 30 minutes to his office to get the results! Again that was music to my ears because the highway there is under all kinds of construction!!! Then after I have the babies he wants to see me in July. I can handle that!!! After the appointment Ben and I stopped for him a slushy and me some water. When we got home he wasn't interested in lunch so I scarfed down a quick bite and then we curled up together for a much needed nap! While I hate that my baby is sick curling up with him was blissful! Thankfully I had set my phone alarm to wake up and pick up the older B's!!! Ben woke up with another fever so looks like he will be staying home with me tomorrow. I hope he wakes up in the morning at least feeling better. I hate it when my kids are sick.

Let me back up a little....
Last week my husbands office threw us a shower!!! It was so much fun and we got some awesome items off our registry!! Very thankful!!! They had lunch and a cake ready for us in a conference room. Here is me before the shower (I took the pic in my daughters room because she has the biggest mirror).

****not sure how the pictures will be arranged since I'm on my iPad.
